Why we built a calmer baby diary

Most baby trackers feel clinical, busy, or full of streaks. We wanted something gentler — for the 3am you, not the optimisation you.

We started The Baby Diary after one too many 3am moments where we couldn't remember which side we last fed from, when the previous nappy was, or whether the nap had been long enough to count.

The apps we tried felt like little spreadsheets — cluttered tabs, dense charts, judgmental streaks. Tracking your baby should feel like jotting in a notebook, not filing a tax return.

So we built something quieter. A Today view that fits on one screen. One-tap logging for the events you repeat all day. Live timers that keep going on your Lock Screen, so you can put your phone down and hold your baby.

There are no streaks. There is no shame. There is no gamification. Just a gentle record that grows with your baby, and a few soft hints when they might be hungry or sleepy again.

If you're tired and looking for something calmer, we hope it helps.
